How has running a make money online blog affected you? Do you think the process of running a make money online blog too much for publishers to handle? In 2008 I have witnessed quite a few moderately popular make money online blogs hit the auction block at SitePoint.com.
With running a make money online blog myself and also seeing such a high turnover of owners within the community, the event of seeing yet another make money online blog go up for sale strikes a lot of my personal interest.
Ahson Rafiq, college student and owner of BlueVerse.com, a make money online blog currently ranked 3rd in the popular 45n5.com Top 100 which is owned by Mark Wielgus, explains that he wants to rebrand and pursue other niche developments specifically in clothing. He further explains that he will not be able to maintain his top ranking make money online blog due to the demands of college and his new developments.

The blog is currently on auction, hosted on industry accepted and trusted, SitePoint.com. The auction will run for 12 days and will end late evening on Saturday November 8th 2008. BlueVerse.com generates $1,500 / month, has a Google PageRank of 5 and has been online since November 30th, 2006. The break down on the monthly income includes private advertisements, sponsored reviews, sponsored WordPress themes and custom WordPress theme designs. Google AdSense is currently displayed through out the site, though there was no mention of income earnings.
For more information regarding the sale of this make money online blog, you can visit Ahson Rafiq’s post here, or view the live auction hosted on SitePoint.com. The minimum bid amount is $5,000 with a buy it now price of $20,000.

With that buy it now price, it’s actually a steal for a blog like that. Although it’s not that popular in my own mind, I can say that if he’s top #3 of Mark’s Top 100 list…the traffic will be a continuous stream.

You don’t see me jumping all over the auction.
I don’t know… to some people out there, making a purchase like this is worth it. To me, there are way too many variables. The “sponsored reviews” kind of concerns me.

It seems that the most profitable sales are of MMO blogs. I am waiting for the day when other niche blogs are worth that much as well.
If you think about it, MMO blogs take a lot of time because the communities around them are constantly evolving and interacting.
Most non-MMO niche blogs are not so time consuming so that, to me, makes them more valuable.
JMHO.
