Viral Videos on YouTube

In this dot Com world of cut throat competition the difference between being number one and the first loser is simple. You have to get the most exposure, you have to get the most traffic and you have to draw the most attention to whatever it is that you’re wanting to market and promote.

Starting a blog is one way of doing this. But as many of us know, this only goes so far. So aside from doing our normal every day blogging bit, what else can we do? Have you considered online videos? Specifically, have you considered creating viral videos on YouTube?

Sound difficult? It’s really not… it doesn’t take much time, energy or resources to create viral videos on YouTube. Having that said, you do need to know the robes and learn the processes involved. Secondly, you need to learn more about social media optimization. Many people hear about the term search engine optimization; however, there is an important aspect called Social Media Optimization.

Luckily, I have a good friend, Gavin, from RyanShamus.com who contacted me a few days ago and gave me the heads up on a new article that I just now Dugg. This links to the article Gavin wrote titled, This Is One Virus You NEED To Catch.

This is a 6 page eBook that is free for you to download and share among your friends. I do want to stress that Gavin has worked very hard in creating this 6 page masterpiece. Be sure to hook him up with Digg votes and Stumble Votes so that we can all help him spread the word about this amazing eBook.

I have been wanting to do this — excellent timing. Dugg.

I had respect for this blog, then you go on being John Chows bitch. Why copy his posts? Can you not come up with your own content?

3 Garry Conn { 03.26.08 at 10:52 pm }

Eric,

Enjoy your moment of fame… I hope that when people visit your blog that they don’t have trouble keeping up with the whopping three posts you have written on your blog.

And… I will try to do better for you… perhaps you should scroll down and use my tag search and there is also a really neat invention that has only been around for say, 15 years… it’s called a search bar. Try it sometime and it will lead you places. :)

Eric — you have it totally figured out, except EXACTLY BACKWARDS.

John Chow is Garry’s Bitch. Always has been. In fact, rumor has it that Garry edits all of Chow’s post before they go live. LOL

Seriously, dude. According to Yahoo Links, there are over 20,000 backlinks to GarryConn.com (including internals). I don’t think Garry is anyone’s “bitch.” Garry posts more original content on Monday before breakfast than most people do all week. If you started now reading every completely original Garry Conn post, you would still be reading this time next year.

Quick trip to Google will show you that many people are covering the release of Gavin’s eBook (that’s called great marketing).

You know what Eric, you should only hope that one day you’ll be as talented as Garry Conn. If you spent as much time working on your own blog as you do trying to get noticed on other peoples blogs, you might stand a chance.

What do you care where he gets his content? At least he has content, and he brings a lot of highly valuable information to the masses. From what I can see, you need to work on your own blog, and not worry so much about what’s on Garry’s blog.

Maybe if you’d grow up and act like an adult, you MIGHT be half the blogger that Garry Conn is.

I don’t understand why he says John Chow’s bitch, when we all know John Chow himself is a bitch. Eric, come on, how long you been blogging?

Or, maybe Eric was trying to exploit the comment strategy.

Wow Gary, ever considered the blogs not even finished? Are you completely retarded? I’ve been a subscriber here for a long time, I’ve read most of those posts and I know what a fucking search bar is. Way to attack your RSS subscriber, you’ve just lost one.

8 Christine Senter { 03.27.08 at 11:36 pm }

OMG, Garry lost ONE subscriber. Somebody call the authorities. The sky is falling. Holy Crap, what the hell are we going to do!!!

Oh wait, he’s got more than 700 MORE!!!!!!! I think he can handle it.

9 Althaf Ahmed { 03.27.08 at 11:37 pm }

Eric, the people of truth have always preferred to remain silent. Take my advise and do it.

10 Mark Mason { 03.27.08 at 11:40 pm }

Hey Garry — I’ll take Eric’s subscription! I get so much content out of your blog, it’s worth my time to read it twice! LOL!

Yo, Eric — you did call Garry “John Chow’s bitch.”

Garry’s point was that this blog is chock full of useful stuff. I was actually thinking you might apologize for flaming Garry on his own blog. Man, I missed that call.

Anyway, I am sticking by my claim that John Chow is Garry’s bitch.

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. :)

11 Mark Mason { 03.27.08 at 11:44 pm }

@Althaf — you are wise, my friend.

12 Garry Conn { 03.28.08 at 12:01 am }

Eric said, “I had respect for this blog, then you go on being John Chows bitch.” and then… “Way to attack your RSS subscriber, you’ve just lost one.”

Well… I might as well go down with the ship and have the most of this. As the door is hitting your ass on the way out, I’ll leave you with this:

Interesting Conversation. Mr. Eric seems to have been attacked from all sides. Enmity is no good. It ruins much and benefits very little.

14 Christine Senter { 03.28.08 at 12:20 am }

To Eric—

You had the nerve to call Garry out
And used some words we could do without

You spewed out words like you’re the one
Thinking that this whole thing was done

Acting like you were the reason
That Garry blogs in every season

You thought this would go off without a hitch
Well think again, cause your the Bitch.

15 Mark Mason { 03.28.08 at 12:20 am }

I love it when Metallica happens.

16 Eric Sherman { 03.28.08 at 9:31 am }

RSS Subscribers are everything. Obviously the success of this blog won’t go down with one less RSS Subscriber. I know that. There was the viral video post by JohnChow, and then in the next 24hours I saw about 6 different 500-1000 RSS Subscriber blogs copy that post topic. Sure not a coincidence.

17 Mark Mason { 03.28.08 at 7:57 pm }

@Eric — Exactly. No way that so many top bloggers like Garry just decided to happened to copy Chow and become “Chow’s bitch.” Must have been another reason — like really good marketing by Ryan ahead of time.

18 Garry Conn { 03.28.08 at 8:07 pm }

Ryan had this planned out weeks in advanced. The coverage on his article was broadcasted out on I would guess around 25 blogs or so… maybe more. He had a message that he wanted to communicate out to a massive amount of people and he did just that and did it well and paid a price for it too.

Anyone who shelled out that kind of money obviously has something important to say. So, instead of acting like a “bitch” as you call it, I would suggest that you research more about what has been brought to your attention.

That is, if you’re curious about making money online. As you said, you been reading my blog for awhile… so I would guess that you’re interested in that, otherwise I have no idea why you would be reading my blog in the first place.

On a last note, I thought you were leaving? And now you’re back dropping a neutral comment? Why don’t you spend less time being a comment whore and invest more time into researching things before running your mouth.
