What most webmasters don’t know about RSS submissions

Free Web Designs

In the previous post we discussed how to get backlinks and increased site exposure using rss and in this post we’re going to discuss some of the RSS leveraging points that webmasters aren’t utilizing to the fullest extent.

What you see most people doing with their Main Site RSS feeds:

  • They submit their main site feed to a bunch of directories then forget about it for a while.
  • They limit themselves quite a bit by redirecting their site traffic to their NoIndex, NoFollow feed handlers like Feedburner.

As mentioned in my previous post, you want to have a site like FeedAge handling your readers, and you also want to put RSS icons on your site that redirect and send link juice and link luv to sites that will “return the favor” via indexed feeds, indexed feed items, and DoFollow backlinks.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg here and there’s more value and backlinks that can be obtained from your RSS submissions.

Any site content piece, url, page, article, post etc… can be made into an individual RSS feed of its own and submitted as its own entity, ie. its own submittable feed…

Think about that for a minute…

Most people submit their main site feed to RSS directories and they get their latest and greatest additions to their main site feed displayed…. on a pre-exisiting site feed…

  • which usually pushes other listed items off the main feed listing…
  • which reduces the link juice that site url could have been getting just by being listed on that main site feed.

If you want to generate more powerful backlinks to each and every published content piece you have on all your sites, then you should read this article on RSS submissions that tells you how to go about generating individual feeds for individual site content and have them submitted automatically to 19 RSS directories immediately upon publication.

This results in 19 backlinks for each site url you have, and creates an incredible link juice for your site by building quality backlinks to all your inner pages and posts on autopilot once its set up.  You can also use software that does this for html and asp sites.

When you use RSS submissions normally there’s good value to it.  If you want to take your SEO marketing to a whole ‘nother level, you will send all your site’s link juice to a feed handler that will index your feed and provide DoFollow backlinks from their site to yours, and you want to submit individual urls from your sites as their own feeds.
