What Would Blogging Be Like In The 80’s and 90’s?
When you think of blogging, you think of publishing and providing a syndication or broadcast in a very modern time. Web 2.0, social networking, mass media marketing, etc… Whatever you want to call it… it’s a crazy futuristic media environment and the scary part is that it’s growth and expansion isn’t showing any sign of slowing down. Blogging is the mad man of the Internet.
Having all that said, I want to set a vision in your mind. I want you to separate technological breakthrough from fashion, styles and trends. By doing this I want you to reflect on the elements that were “HOT” back in the 80’s and 90’s and then I ask yourself this question:
What would blogging be like in the 80’s and 90’s if the modern technology of today was available back then?

Boy, does this bring back memories…and nightmares! And in some ways it’s kind of embarrassing. Funny thing is that growing up through those years it all seemed so, well, normal. But looking back on that I’m forced to ask, “What were we thinking?!”
The 80’s was a very strange period.. It was almost like a rebound period… 70’s were very pronounced… same with the 90’s… don’t get me wrong, I loved the 80’s (I was a young kid) but it was strange. What is funny is today, most people talk about the 90’s as I talk about the 80’s.
