Why Do Humans Drink Milk?
Baby Formula, Baby Milk, Bottle Feeding, Breast Feeding, Breast Milk, Cow Milk, Milk
If you think about it for a minute, humans drinking milk is a very odd thing among all living creatures. Humans are one of the only species who drink milk as mature adults and drink the milk from a complete different animal, commonly cows.
The whole topic of humans drinking milk is a very strange topic all together. There are many strange discussions that derive from humans drinking milk. One of which is breast feeding. Many moms do not breast feed their babies. Yet these same babies that were bottle fed with formula - breast milk supplement - later grow up and drink cow milk as adults.
I don’t know, it all seems kind of weird. A cat, wouldn’t be put on supplemental milk, so why are many human babies born and fed formula? On that same topic of cats, many people believe that mature cats drink milk. Really the only reason why a mature cat would drink milk is because a human gave it to the cat. Cats in the wild do not drink milk.
So once again, why is milk such a weird thing for humans? It seems that humans have the whole milk thing backwards. What are your thoughts?

I think babies are probably healthier on breast milk, although I know sometimes that isn’t possible in which case formula seems like a good idea since it provides all those nutrients that are so important for tiny people.
I think it is totally weird that adult people drink cow’s milk. I switched to soy milk a long time ago because I just couldn’t think of any good reason to keep going for the cow.
Of course, I eat yogurt and cheese and all sorts of other cow milk stuff. But DRINKING the milk - it just seems weird. Totally a personal choice, can’t really make the argument either way.

I agree, I believe that research has proven this too. Mom’s who can’t breast feed should pump. However, I understand that isn’t possible for many moms. My wife, just as example, her job will not accommodate her that will allow her to pump at work. So, she will be off from work until Jan. 09.
Many people think that breast feeding is simply gross. Meaning, their lifestyle or job doesn’t prevent them from breast feeding or pumping, they simply choose not to because they think it’s gross.
I don’t know… I am not a lady, but I’d like to beleive that I’d have an open mind about it if I were. Of course, I am a guy and have absolutely ZERO say in the matter, when it comes to guys and having babies… I am the asshole who had only about 15 minutes invested into this who baby making thing. LOL!!!

If you think about it… it kind of really is! I watched a show on Discovery Channel quite a few months back and saw the process that cows under go to get milk extracted from them. Some of these pumper machines will keep pumping even if there is no milk left in the cow and nasty puss and blood get extracted from the cow instead. It was quite gross to watch while I was eating my nightly bowl of Fruit Loops.

I drink milk because I want healthy bones, I want all the fat I can get and oreo’s and other cookies / cerial taste SO good in it. Soy milk is gross and I don’t want to take calcium pills because thats what old people do. There is only one thing better than a nice glass of milk and that is: Chocolate Milk.
Garry, try eating your bowl of fruit loops while watching surgery or those “birth story” type shows. I never want to experience that again. It was 10 times worse than thinking about puss blood in milk

I absolutely love cereal at night. The milk has to be ice cold. I put the gallon of milk in the freezer about 20 minutes before I plan on eating about 5 bowls of cereal.
