Win Money Online Plus Two Free MacBook Airs
Sorry guys, hate to disappoint you. This isn’t going to be won on my blog or even John Cow’s in the competition to see who’s the better MMO blogger. Instead Mike from Blogging-Ads.com asked if I would post this for him. I figured why not? Who couldn’t use the extra money or a chance to win not only one but two free MacBook Airs. I won a contest on Bloggin-Ads.com once before, perhaps someone reading this post will be blessed with some luck to win a free Apple computer. Check it out.

Two Super Huge MacBook Air Giveaways! - Bloggin-Ads.com

Hey Garry Conn readers, this is Mike & Michelle from Blogging-Ads.com. We asked Garry if he would let us tell you about a really cool contest we have going on at our blog. Contests are something that we do often and currently have a real hot one that I am sure will capture your interest. Many people may remember the first contest we had was huge! In fact, Garry Conn was actually on of the winners, take a look for yourself here.
At any rate, I’d like to tell you about our latest contest. The prizes that are being given away this time are valued at huge prices. How does this sound:
- 2 x MacBook Airs ( $1,799 value each )
- 10 x $100 Paypal ( Totalling $1,000 )
I highly suggest you guys participate in this contest as the prizes are much better than winning some advertising spots or some Entrecard credits. Make sure you go check out the contest post.
This brings out a good point that you don’t have to be throwing out your own money in getting things you want because if you’re trying to open your own business, which includes a blog, you could use that in getting free stuff.
If you take a look at a few bloggers out there like Darren Rowse, John Chow, and Shoemoney, you would realize that they’re getting A LOT of free stuff. When I say free stuff, I don’t mean just a few pens or usual t-shirts. They’re getting cameras, camcorders, computer parts, and almost anything you can think of that has values over $1,000.
The way that these items are obtained are quite simple, but only if you know what you’re looking for and who’s interested in sponsoring stuff to you. Assuming that you already have some popularity and some sort of higher ranking online, you should be able to go to local businesses or e-mail online businesses asking for sponsorships on certain items. Most of the time, companies would be glad to sponsor some items in return for a mention.
It’s not as difficult as it looks, but it does take time and patience to find a perfect place to ask. I mean, the worst that could happen is you just become friends with the store or business. At any rate, I hope you like the tip and in the mean time, take full advantage of the contest I have going, It’s a huge one.

My wife and I would personally like to say thanks for posting the message for us
You don’t know how much it means to us. Basically, Bloggin-Ads is starting over from scratch because of a brand new writing style and topic (blogging) that we’re trying
We hope that it would turn out great because we have learned a lot from the 7 month journey of blogging.

Mike,
You have had an interesting journey in blogging since the day you launched your blog. You stirred up the pot many times by blogging about things that created drama, which thats cool, I do the same thing from time to time… I never really dugg you being a comment troll as you used to do that a lot many month ago on my blog as well as John Chow’s and even ShoeMoney’s. I confronted you about that many times but you always seemed to have avoided responding back.
Anyway, I see that you don’t do that anymore so that’s a good thing.
A few questions I have for you regarding the contest, I’ll copy the rules found on your post and paste them here and add my questions along with them:
Subscribe to Feed ( 1 ticket )- This is the simplest entry method that seems to be very popular. All you have to to is subscribe to my feed via E-mail. I will be able to check the e-mails, but not the feed reader sites. E-mail will just guarantee you an entry.
People who are already subscribed such as me are shit out of luck? Shouldn’t your existing devoted readers be allowed an entry for already being there for you?
Participate In Forums (1-10 ticket per day) -
Participate in 2 of my forums and you will get entry methods depending on how
much you partcipate. The first forum is here on
my blog at the top
and the second is my
EntreForums.
10 posts per day is the maximum an individual can post per day? Is that per forum or combined? (e.g. 4 posts on one form and 6 posts on another or can you do 10 posts on one and 10 posts on the other) How does this work precisely?
Participate On Bloggin-Ads ( 1 ticket per comment / 5 limit a day ) - As long as you comment on the latest posts and just participate, you’re guaranteed 1 entry per day
So older posts don’t count? I guess I would have to comment 5 times on your most recent post to get the maximum entries?
Write About It ( 10 tickets ) - Write about this contest and link to me with the anchor text, “blog reviewsâ€. If you don’t use a anchor text, you will still receive 5 tickets.
I lost count after 117 active blogs. Can I use all my blogs to write about this content and score 1170 tickets? Secondly, how many times can one write about the contest?
Stumble / Digg / Propel ( 3 tickets ) - Just Stumble or Digg this post and you get 3 tickets.
What about other posts? What about other networks?
Make sure you leave a comment with what you did and please use the same e-mail/website everywhere, so I can keep track. More entry methods will be available, but it will be mentioned anywhere (blog posts, forum threads, comments
What do you mean to say by the above quoted text?
Secondly and most importantly, how in the world are you keeping track of this? What kind of system do you have in place for keeping a record of people’s score?
Thirdly, how is a winner chosen?
Forth, how are the prizes distributed? First prize wins a MacBook Air? What about second prize? Since there are two computers in this auction are you giving the second place (runner up) a laptop too? That kinda sucks for the first place guy? Or, are you giving both laptops to the first place winner?
What about the money? How is that going to be distributed?
What is the maximum in prizes and money one individual can win?
Sorry for being a prick and I know I am being one too … LOL!! but I have a gut feeling that a lot of folks will end up getting pissed off on this contest if things aren’t clarified. Drop me a comment back and lets get these things all worked out. I’d like to not only participate in this contents but also win it, and you better believe that I would be highly angered if I didn’t win due to some technicality that you failed to mention in the rules. As you said, we’re not dealing with winning cheesy banner ads. This is a contest to win two very nice computers, that I’ll admit, I am very interested in.

I think I may just have to enter this contest, I surely wouldn’t mind getting a free MacBook Air.
Date/Time: 5-17-2008 10:48:58 Comment #14311
That would be cool. Earlier this year I was going to get a MacBook Pro. I’d still rather have that over the MacBook Air, but you don’t have to twist my arm.
Just curious to see what other people think:
Which is better? MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air? Consider all elements into this including price.
Date/Time: 5-17-2008 11:01:13 Comment #14312
Definitely the Air. The Pro isn’t powerful enough to justify it and if you really needed something more powerful there’s a lot better choices such as the XPS m1710. I bought an Air about a month ago and I love it, sometimes I forget I’m carrying it because it’s so light and you can’t even feel it.

MacBook Pro
$1,999.00 or,
$2,499.00 or,
$2,799.00.
Pricewise, it would seem most economical to purchase the regular baseline MacBook or the baseline MacBook Pro. The only thing MacBook Air has going for it is the fact that it’s very compact and light weight. It is not more powerful than even the baseline MacBook. You do have the option of going Solid State Hard Drive; however, if you want that option on the MacBook Air, you’re looking at a $1,000 dollar upgrade.
All in all, my opinion is that the MacBook Air is great for show and tell. If you’re looking for beef with a good balance of price, then go with the standard MacBook or MacBook Pro.
For me, I can’t stand small screens, so back a few months ago when I was going to make a purchase (wife pregnant not buying) I was going to get the baseline MacBook Pro for $1,999.00.

Still, if I were buying a machine for performance there’s a lot better choices. Rather than dropping $2000 on a Pro you could get an XPS m1710 for $1500 or used Alienware for just over 2000. Don’t get me wrong, the Pro is a good machine but it really doesn’t live up its high price.

Perhaps you should take a peek at the article I wrote title, Dell XPS Versus Apple MacBook. With over 120 comments there is no wonder it ranks #1 in Google For Dell XPS vs Apple MacBook.
The Dell XPS is no match against an Apple MacBook. You need to really do your homework on this one.
I would love to own an Apple and in fact would already be a proud owner if I wasn’t saving money for our newest edition to our family.
Hey Mark, didn’t you recently have a wonderful experience with your Dell XPS recently? LOL!!!!

Hey Garry, I’m running my first contest shortly and your comment with your questions to Mike taught me a ton…Thanks man!
Your first question about existing subscribers…do you think existing subscribers should get more tickets (say 2 maybe) or are you just clarifying whether or not they get any?
Date/Time: 5-17-2008 11:39:14 Comment #14315
I think in a contest that involves level of commitment and contribution that your existing and dedicated readers should be rewarded equally if not slightly more for the fact that they have participated on your blog for a longer period of time. While most contests such as Mike’s (and I would really like for him to answer my questions!) are designed to help build and increase readership by luring people in with a prize.
The more I think about this, it’s kind of is cheesy. While I am doing the same thing with the whole COWPetition thing, it actually - I think - makes you look desperate for traffic. But who knows? In my competition against John Cow, I have contests going for my readers that encourage them to join my Make Money Online school and encourages them to participate in the classroom assignments.
John Cow is using his prizes and contest to get people to join and spread the word. By far it’s definitely working for him, but I’d rather provide my freebies to the people who are working hard in my classroom instead.
So how does that relate to Bloggin-Ads.com? Same thing… there are people who have been devoted readers who I feel are getting shafted out of an entry because they are already subscribed.
All in all though, the whole Bloggin-Ads.com contest seems very loopy for the fact that I don’t see how Mike is going to accurately keep track of everyone’s contributions for tickets/entries. So, we’ll see what he says.
Date/Time: 5-17-2008 11:52:19 Comment #14316
A lot of contests seem loopy to me. I plan to be very transparent in my goals with my contest. It isn’t to gain readership on my blog at all. With the amount of commitment I would like to give my readers when they ask technical questions etc, it could get pretty tough if the readership got too too big…but I’ll manage one way or another if it does.
I enjoy, actually love building niche blogs and sites and go at them full force until they are done and tweaked and perfected and I don’t even mind updating them…but when it comes to promoting them…I’d rather have a nap!
My goal with my contest is to help promote one of my recent niche sites. You think that’s cheesy too?
I’m giving away something pretty in return cool IMO. If you want to IM or something I can tell ya what it is early, I’d love to get your opinion.

“I’m giving away something pretty in return cool IMO.” was supposed to say “I’m giving away something pretty cool in return IMO.” lol
Date/Time: 5-17-2008 12:37:30 Comment #14318
Garry,
Thanks for bringing those questions up. I hope I answered everything below
1. Existing subscribers are not excluded and I will verify participating in the contest to know which ones are included. This is why I need participants to leave a comment.
2. The Forum entry methods are separated to each forum, so 20 total tickets could be obtained.
3. I do apologize that I didn’t realize that I mentioned only comments on the “latest posts” count. Older posts do in fact count too.
4. Each blog post on different blogs (if you own more than one) count as an entry.
5. There are going to be hidden entry methods around my blog, forum, and messaging through social networks such as Twitter, BlogCatalog, and MyBlogLog.
6. I’m keeping track of the entries every single day through Excel. I have learned from my previous contest that if I don’t keep track early, it would be hard in the end. The reason I ask for the same username/e-mail on all the comments is so I can keep track of all the stuff including forum posts. The forum posts are easy to keep track of because I can check the usernames in the admin dashboard.
7. There are a total of 12 winners. I’ll throw all the entries and names (each entry = one name) into the randomizer site to find the winners. The 2 laptops will go to 2 different winners. The $1,000 will be split among the 3-12th winner ($100 each)
8. To make things fair, each winner will only win ONE item.
Thanks Garry for bringing up all these questions and having this post. You’re great at bringing up these questions as I didn’t even think of them yet
I hope that answers everything.

Hey Mike, just curious how you can check if people have actually done what they say they’ve done? For example how would you know if someone subscribed or not?
Date/Time: 5-18-2008 18:08:16 Comment #14349
At first I asked for any type of RSS subscription, but in the end, I changed it back to only e-mail. E-mail subscriptions could be checked and verified in Feedburner’s dashboard.
Hope that answers your question.

Oh ok that makes sense. Do you think a lot of people will unsubscribe after the contest though? I know I don’t like subscribing by email so if I were a first time visitor to your site I’d probably either unsubscribe and re-subscribe by RSS or just unsubscribe altogether.
Date/Time: 5-19-2008 13:01:26 Comment #14366
I understand this problem. I have had previous un-subscribers after my first contest ended. There simply won’t be a way to get around this even though gave it a lot of thought.
E-mail subscribing does have my feed sent to your e-mail and at times I do understand the frustration, so I wouldn’t mind if you unsubscribe and subscribe through a regular feed reader

Sorry about leaving this useless comment, I just wanted to be “notified of followup comments via e-mail” so I don’t miss your response…and I forget to hit the checkbox last time.
