Windows Vista Installed On My Dell Inspiron E1505
Well, I finally did it. I have Windows Vista installed on my Dell Inspiron E1505 notebook computer. Installing the new OS was actually pretty simple. After reading the install options, I discovered that I had two choices: Upgrade my existing copy of Windows XP, or do a clean install. Since I had the laptop for a few months I already noticed a drop in its performance and if I wasn’t going to be installing Windows Vista I knew that I would be soon due for an XP reinstall anyway. I frequently wipe out my computers and reinstall the operating system because I am so dreadfully hard on them. Basically, I don’t practice what I preach and typically install anything and everything I can download and get my hands on!
Needless to say, I decided to do a clean install. I spent a few hours dumping all my precious files, pictures, videos and documents over onto DVD-R and after that… the install was a breeze! I have to say, I am very impressed with Windows Vista. It is very futuristic and state of the art. I looks, feels and operates awesome! I am very pleased with it so far and extremely happy! The system is weird, its quite different from XP but yet on the same token it has a strong resemblance. Reminds me of when you pimp out a car. Same shell, just upgraded the engine and added a custom sound system and went with leather bucket seats.
Overall though, I don’t think this is something I would go out and purchase. If money is tight (I got my copy from Dell for $10.00) I wouldn’t recommend buying it. Windows XP is still a great operating system and I would have used it for a few more years if I had not purchased my new laptop a few month back. So don’t go running out to the store to buy just yet. Windows Vista is cool… but your money is better spent on other things that you may need.

I’ve had Windows Vista for a couple of months. Like you, I did not have to pay full price for it.
Needless, to say, I am very impressed with it. For the most part it looks a lot better, and seems faster. Even Windows Media Player 11, when you switch on some settings to simplify it is much better.
I also highly recommend making Ctrl Shift 4 open up the Snip tool (to emulate the screen capture tool in Mac OS X).

I love Vista Home Premium. I had some problems at first with issues like Tim’s but I found it to be my virus software. I called Microsoft, they spent about an hour online with me then worked it out to the anti-virus software. I removed the 360 and it has worked great without any problems. Nice blog. I will be back
