YouTube Videos Make Money

Free Web Designs

What is the most common thing people do while sitting on the can? Some people would say they read a magazine or a newspaper… perhaps a book. Maybe so, but the most popular thing people do while taking care of business in the bathroom is read product labels. I can vouch for this too! I read deodorant labels, hair spray labels, hair gel labels, body spray labels, nail polish labels and just about every label I can find from products in my bathroom. Wonder where I am going with this???

Make Money Online With YouTube Videos

Think about it. If you run a blog and you include YouTube Videos in your posts. You are doing a few things:

  • You are keeping the reader on your site longer.
  • You are enabling the reader to scope out your sidebar.
  • You are buying more time from the reader.

So as the reader is sitting there watching the YouTube video you have included in your post. His eyes aren’t focused on the video 100% of the time. The reader’s peripheral vision catches quite a bit. If you have something in your sidebar that sparks his attention he may investigate it after watching the video. He could very well pause the video too to check it out.

Google Adsense Placement With YouTube Videos

If you are a Google Adsense user, then you know that everyone says to display your Adsense code above the top fold of your pages. Now, that may work great if you run a blog where people don’t know about Google Adsense. However, if you run a blog where your visitors have already discovered what Google Adsense is… you are faced with a challenge. “How do I get people to click my freaking ads!” If you display YouTube Videos in your post and position a 160×600 Adsense Ad on the left and position it so that the middle of that ad is visible right next to the YouTube video, you will have greatly increased the chance of people clicking your ads, thus making more money online with Google Adsense by using YouTube Videos!

The above is a generic example of a post that has a YouTube video in the post and a precisely positioned Google Adsense ad. When people watch videos, they tend to scroll down and center the video on their screen. Doing this in this example put the Google Adsense advertisement directly in their line of sight. Doing your part with proper blending of the Google Adsense advertisement and with Google doing their part by generating relevant advertisements, this strategy of using YouTube videos in your posts can help increase your CTR by leaps and bounds! Good luck and give it a shot. After one month I am sure that you will see a big difference! People can now read the product labels (Google Adsense) while sitting on the can (watch videos on your site). :)

Wow, thanks for the tip. I haven’t tried adding a youtube video yet, but maybe I will now.

Adding YouTube videos to your post is very simple. All you have to do is copy the Embed code and paste it directly into your post!

When you publish your post or publish a comment (such as what I am doing now) with the code embedded you get this:

Have fun publishing YouTube videos in your posts!

Great post, i haven’t thought about that, i posted videos before, but i think i’ll give this a shot ;)
One thing though (to the people that are using wordpress), make sure you disable the “visual editor” when adding a youtube video or editing a post that has a video in it, or else it won’t work (you can then re-enable the visual editor when you’re done)

user–>your profile–>the little box there

also depends on your browser (i use safari on my mac and the visual editor is crap, but in firefox it works perfect)
;)

Johnathan,

Excellent to bring that up. I don’t use the visual editor because I write all my posts by hand in HTML and I tend to forget that majority of the people who use Wordpress use the visual editor.

*Actually a great program that people can use is a program called, Windows Live Writer. I have been getting lazy and I use that program more and more. A lot of other programs such as the visual editor in Wordpress tend to screw up HTML code. That is the main reason I like to write the posts by hand. However, of all the programs available, Windows Live Writer is the best. I totally stand by it.

I’ll give this a try. Typically I try to keep AdSense off my blog index page to retain readers. But this would be worth a test at least…

Yeah right! :)

You just want to see the hot chick don’t you!!! LOL!!!

If you were on my site about two minutes ago, you would have seen her while she posed for my screen shots:

(Click the above to view full size)

and here is a copy of the 160×600 in full size:

I Was A Nice Guy and Gave Diva Village A Free Link! LOL!!

Ok… so who wouldn’t click on that ad? LOL!!!

the real question to ask though… “Why in the hell does Google display this on my site?” When have I talked about sex, girls, bikinis, and hot chicks? LOL!!

Google seems to be cooking up some real good relevant ads on my site! Maybe I should go ahead and launch a campaign on the lower bottom left?

:)

All kidding aside, do let me know how it works out for you. If your hearts tells you differently then don’t do it… I typically don’t display Google Adsense on Garry Conn dot Com because I am staying focused on my own ads as well as ReviewMe and Text-Link-Ads.  My goal is to get off the training wheels and depend less on third party advertisers and start making more money online through my own advertisement campaigns. I am going to be putting forth a lot of focus and effort towards this in the very near future.

You should check out a plugin for your WordPress blogs called Adman. It boosted my blog revenue by about 20% overnight and now I don’t have to mess with placing AdSense code anymore.

Best of all, its retroactive so all of the posts hat did not have an ad, now do!
